The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering came into existence in the year 2000. The department has a UG (B.E.)programme in Electronics & Communication Engineering with an intake of 180 and PG programme (M.E.) in Communication Systems offering high class technical education to the students. Also the department is a Anna university recognised research centre offering Ph.D programme in Information and Communication Engineering. The Programme is both NAAC and NBA accredited. We offer Choice Based Credit system (CBCS) curriculum covering widespread domains like Professional Core, Industry- Integrated Courses, Life skill Courses , Soft skills and Design thinking and Employment Enhancement Courses. We also offer Industry certification Course like” IBM integrated IoT course”. Also the department has MOU with various Industries like Intel, Texas and their supported “Centre of Excellence Laboratories”. Our mission is to develop the students in multidisciplinary dimensions , by offering Value Added Courses in various current technologies like Artificial Intelligence, IoT etc .The students are also supported with Internship opportunities and Industry oriented projects during their eighth semester of study. Also a number of Clubs are functional in the department to express the technical and non-technical skill of the student. Also a career guidance cell is functional in the department, for the higher studies guidance of the students.
