The Centre of Excellence in Embedded Systems and IoT by Intel is a research and development center focused on advancing the fields of embedded systems and the Internet of Things (IoT). This center is established in partnership between Intel Corporation and academic institutions to drive innovation and research in these areas. The center provides researchers, students, and industry professionals with access to cutting-edge technology, tools, and resources to help them develop new and innovative solutions in embedded systems and IoT. It also offers training programs, workshops, and other resources to help individuals develop the skills and knowledge necessary to work in these fields. The goal of the Centre of Excellence in Embedded Systems and IoT by Intel is to drive advancements in these areas, and to help create a pipeline of talented professionals who are equipped to tackle the challenges of embedded systems and IoT.
HiCET has entered into a MoU with Intel®-FICE (Foundation for Innovation and Collaborative Education) during 2015 to establish Centre of Excellence in Embedded Systems and IoT. The lab has been established with 10 Intel Galileo Gen 2 Boards, Wi-Fi, GPS, GSM, 50 sensors and actuators, Antennas, Micro SD cards with Linux OS, FDDI and Micro USB cables along with 20 dedicated highly configured computers with LAN powered by high speed internet in a cozy and professional environment. This Centre is a unique platform to fine-tune the software and core skills of the students and to create numerous certified professionals with competitive skills which are mandatory for industries. In order to shift this process to higher level, the institution has initiated the process to craft the INTEL® Intelligent Systems to INTEL® Research Centre.
As many as 63 faculty members and 160 students were trained in the past five years.
